Ground squirrels and rattlesnakes are way cool because... Did you know that ground squirrels don't run away when they find a rattlesnake? Instead, they move closer (often within striking distance!) and begin waving their tail side-to-side as they stare at the rattlesnake. Why do ground squirrels do this? Matt Barbour, a Ph.D. student in the Biodiversity Research Centre, will let you in on the secret behind this fascinating interaction. Sunday, February 5 at 1:00 pm
