The VAM Schola Cantorum is the flagship choral ensemble of the Vancouver Academy of Music. The choir consists of advanced singers from a variety of backgrounds and specializes in challenging repertoire from the Renaissance and Baroque periods in addition to 20th- and 21st-century compositions. Only in its second season, the VAM Schola Cantorum has already collaborated with leading Vancouver ensembles including the Vancouver Viols, and has been presented at special events by Music in the Morning, the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, and Vancouver’s Alliance Française. They are conducted by VAM’s Director of Choral Studies, Kathleen Allan.
