Ask an Expert about Bryophytes

Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 11:00am – 3:00pm

Museum Upper Atrium

Free.

Want to know more about bryophytes? Bryophytes are plants without specialized tissues for moving water or nutrients, including mosses, liverworts, and hornworts. They reproduce by spores, have very tiny leaves, or no leaves at all, and do not have flowers. Though they often go unnoticed, these creatures are amazing!

Shona Ellis, Associate Head of Biology and an expert on bryophytes, will be available to answer your questions, identify pictures of mystery mosses you bring in and talk to you about these interesting plants.

This is part of the Ask an Expert Table Series.
