Beaty@Home Live: Jumping Spiders!

Jumping Spiders! Capable of jumping 30 times their body length, Jumping spiders are found in every part of the world and some of the 5,000 documented species are common in households. Instead of sitting at the centre of a web, jumping spiders wander around their habitats and pounce- like cats – on their prey.

Join Dr. Wayne Maddison, Director of the  Spencer Entomological Collection, as he shares his passion for this incredible  group of organisms. You can get to know more about Wayne and about the equipment and materials he uses  in this How to Collect Jumping Spiders video.

This informal chat with a researcher is recommended for ages 9 and up with the support of an adult. You’ll have opportunity to ask questions if you join us live!
