‘ONLINE’ Beaty@Home Live: Fire Followers

Megan and Sharon look into a display case of "Fire Followers"Is it getting hot out?

As we enter another wildfire season in BC, can you think of how your life has changed due to the impacts of these fires?

In today’s Beaty@Home session, join visual artist, Megan Majewski, and writer Sharon Roberts, the creative minds behind Fire Followers, the spotlight exhibition currently on display at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum.

Sharon and Megan visited communities in previous fire seasons to find landscapes and stories shaped by wildfire and the regenerative regrowth it brings. Hear about how their experience went into the works you can experience in the exhibition.

Visit Fire Followers on display at the museum until October 17th and online at https://www.zoology.ubc.ca/~biodiv/fire/.

Share your stories about wildfires on social media using #FireFollowers.  “A vital part of our exhibit is to encourage curiosity and enable dialogue surrounding our lived experience with wildfires. Please help us to grow this dialogue by submitting your own stories, experience, or questions via email to firefollowersbc@gmail.com. We will do our best to reply to everyone and will share some submissions via social media too. We look forward to adding your voice to this vital conversation.”
