The Circle of Life

Stanley Park – Vancouver, B.C.

When I was a worklearn student at the museum, I started out filing away algae that I knew nothing about. After meandering through courses, working in a lab studying algae and “nerding out” with great people along the way. That culminated this year by teaching other students about the amazing world of seaweeds. I brought this beautiful sample of Nereocystis luetkeana (bull kelp) to the class to show them how charismatic they are. I feel like my journey with seaweeds have finally come full circle.
