SYNOPSIS:

On Canada’s west coast there is a place of wonder—a globally significant rainforest, home to whales, wolves and bears. Salmon are a keystone species of this ecosystem. Salmon have also sustained First Nations cultures off this coast for millennia. All this and more is threatened by open net-pen salmon farms.

SALMON SECRETS looks at the impacts of salmon farming through the eyes of those fighting to protect wild salmon from extinction. Featuring First Nations members Skookum John (Keltsmaht First Nation) and Joe Martin (Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation), and traditional Chief Ernest Alfred (‘Na̱mg̱is First Nation), as well as scientist Alexandra Morton.
