Beaty Nocturnal: Stumpy – the Life and Times of a Western Redcedar
By Dale Gintner on March 25, 2025

Stumpy is a 775-year-old section of a western redcedar that has had a long history at UBC, and a much longer history before that. In a reimagined exhibit, this treasure of the collection is presented as a portal into its biological, temporal, and ethnographic contexts. Hear from speakers involved in bringing this exhibit to life at 6pm. Join a tour of the whole museum at 7pm for this Nocturnal evening.
