CHICKADEE CRIMINAL MASTERMIND – Book reading with author Monica Silvie

Come hear a story about a chickadee who thinks he’s King of the Thieves! Monica Silvie will read her debut picture book Chickadee: Criminal Mastermind, illustrated by Elina Ellis. Then she’ll share some interesting facts about these lively birds and talk about simple and inexpensive things kids can do to help wildlife in the city.

Author’s Bio:

Monica Silvie practiced law for over fifteen years before returning to her earliest passion, writing for children. Monica’s first book, Chickadee: Criminal Mastermind (Kids Can Press), illustrated by Elina Ellis, hatched in June 2022. Publishers Weekly called it “a snappily told picture book.”

Monica has a Certificate in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and is a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators since 2017. She lives in Vancouver on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
