Join Nature Vancouver’s Mike Fung and June Ryder to learn how Online Birding Tools are Way Cool!
Mike Fung is a birder and a bird photographer who also records his bird sightings in, and generally makes use of, a free, online, worldwide, citizen science database called eBird, hosted by Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology and National Audubon Society. He will demonstrate eBird during the lecture.
June Ryder is a professional geoscientist. Now retired, she is following her lifelong interests in natural history, especially birds and conservation. She contributed field data and written reports to the on-line Breeding Bird Atlas of British Columbia, which we will also introduce at the lecture. This contains a wealth of information about the birds of our province, their distribution, habitats, abundance, conservation status, and more.
