Beaty@Home Live: Backyard Biodiversity – Pressing and Preserving Spring Plants

Join Linda Jennings, Collections Curator, Vascular Plants & Algae, at the UBC Herbarium to learn more about plants in your backyard. Linda will introduce you to local spring flowering plants and explain what goes into making a scientific plant collection. Learn about the importance of identification, scientific and common names, taking good field notes, writing labels, conservation considerations as well as how to press and preserve specimens for the long term.
