E. C. Manning Park, BC
For an area covered by snow for half of the year, Manning Park comes to life during its short summer. Flowers of all kinds bloom, attracting animals such as the Spruce Grouse to feed on berries, insects, and plants. Its beautiful mottled camouflage allows it to adeptly hide from predators (and photographers!), so I was lucky to notice and snap a photo of this female hiding among the wildflowers.
